Amid the planned split of Lionsgate and Starz in 2024 and multiple cancellations at the network, including “Heels,” “Run the World” and “Blindspotting,” Hirsch has continued to focus on keeping Starz profitable. Under him and Starz president of domestic networks Alison Hoffman, the home of the “Outlander” and “Power” franchises saw its first price increase since launching as a standalone service in 2016. Of late, Starz struck a long-term deal with Amazon to bundle Starz with MGM+ on Prime Video, set an additional bundle with AMC+ at Amazon and landed a partnership with Verizon Plus Play for a Netflix-Starz bundle, and as of this year, he can boast that 60% of Starz’s revenue and subscribers are digital. With Hirsch at the helm, Starz has four series reaching more than 9 million multiplatform viewers apiece. He also solidified Starz’s relationship with talent including Ava DuVernay, Marlon Wayans, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Fat Joe and Tanya Saracho.
