As he gets ready to launch his new jewellery collection Libertine on QVC, Giles Deacon sat down with us to talk about the partnership, London Fashion Week and London's It girls.

Describing the collection, which goes on sale on QVC on Sunday, 10th March, is not as easy to explain as one might think.

Inspired by Giles' own drawings, it references everything from Edwardian details to the Village People. And if you're starting to warm to the Cumbrian-born designer, here's another reason we love Giles: he gets that we all want to own a piece of his work - a unique blend of acute craftsmanship and witty irreverence - even if we can't quite justify splashing out on it, that is until now. Ranging from £14 to £70, Libertine matches the high street in price, and elevates the offering with Giles' edgy vision.

He said he wanted to create a "signature statement Giles jewellery collection (to send) out to a mass audience," adding "QVC seemed like a very good partner".

When we caught up with the 43-year-old designer he revealed a few gems: he remoulded his favourite drawn character into the Village People, that he could see Alexa or Cara sporting this collection, and that he's gearing up for his small-screen appearance with a bit of TV training.

"I think a bit of jewellery that cheers you up for the day, isn't a bad thing," he said, and we couldn't agree more.
